Factory outlets in Bandung

October 21st, 2007 · 173 Comments

Bandung in Indonesia is just across Straits of Malacca and its so easily accessible nowadays with Airasia. I was there earlier this year to do what best in Bandung . Bandung was really a shopping paradise with so many factory outlets to let you shop till you drop.

The clothes sold in these factory outlets are seasonal. What is sold in these outlets depends on the supply from their distributors.

Among brands that you can find in Bandung are Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Levis, Dockers, Hugo Boss, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Crocodile, Calvin Klein, etc, etc, etc

Besides shopping, the food in Bandung was excellent. I would highly recommend ‘Kampung Daun’, ‘Dapurku’ and ‘The Valley’

Here is my travel itinerary for my Bandung trip.

Day 01 : Arrive at Bandung : 9:00AM
- Check-in Hotel by 10.30am
- Shopping to factory outlet “Heritage”
- Lunch at sundanese restaurant “Dapurku”
- Shopping to “Bandung Super Mall”, visit Polo boutique & Batik boutique in the mall
- Dinner at restaurant on top of the hill “The Valley”
- Back to hotel

Day 02 :
- Visit factory outlet “Rumah Mode”
- Go to “Cihampelas Walk” and also outside the shops selling jeans
- Lunch at restaurant “Glossis” in Cihampelas
- Visit the shopping center “Istana Plaza”
- Dinner at “Kampung daun”
- Back to hotel

Day 03 :
- Visit active volcano “Tangkuban Perahu” and hotspring around the area
- Continue to shop at many factory Outlets along Jalan Dago
- You can also have lunch in many Sundanese restaurants, just ask the driver.
- Visit the mall “Paris de Java” and have dinner there
- Back to hotel

Day 03 : Flight back to Kuala Lumpur.

I went in April 2007. Was too lazy to post about this trip. It’s worth going if you can get cheap Airasia tickets. But, beware of fakes.

hello there,,, i am going to Bandung in March, 2008
I am interested to do some outlet shopping too.
Mainly interested in Abercrombie & Fitch, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.
Can you recommend outlets-stores selling these ???
    THANKS :) bye

Leslie: Most of the outlets sell the same stuff but they depend on the shipment too. I just came back from Bandung and this time around, there were lots of Dockers. For guys, I would recommend TheMen outlet at Jalan Riau. Please check out Rumah Mode and Heritage too

Leslie: If you visit shops in Jalan Dago and Jalan Riau, you would have covered all of Bandung. You can visit outlets like Rumah Mode, Heritage, TheMen, Oasis and outlets around these shops. You can visit here and here for more details.

  • 11 sue // Feb 2, 2008 at 12:25 am

Can u recommend hotels located within the shopping area?

Leslie: Bandung shopping area is not big. Car rental with a driver for a day is very cheap. Moving around is very easy. For hotels, I have stayed at Sukajadi which is opposite of Paris Van Java. I would rate it like a 2-star hotel. This hotel is part of Airasia tour package. I prefer Malya Hotel which I stayed in December. You can read more about this hotel in my other blog post. Enjoy shopping :)

  • 12 Vince // Feb 4, 2008 at 4:56 am

Yo! Mas could be on the same flight as mine. I’ll be spending my CNY in a foreign land. Leaving on 6/02, mid morning flight.
Heard ain’t got night life, would be boring then. Coz, i sleep in the day, wakes up at dawn…like the Count, eh.
    Holiday,.. what!

Leslie : Have fun in Bandung :)

  • 13 Vince // Feb 4, 2008 at 4:59 am

All halal restaurants! What leh… ain’t no authentic Chinese restaurants. Thot there’s a China town ere, well maybe in 1920’s.

Leslie: Maybe there are some but why don;t you try out the local food. They are delicious :)

  • 14 FARA // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:31 pm

hey there..ur blog definitely help me a lot in planning my trip to Bandung this April’08. i’m soo thrill about having some outlet shopping and visiting Mt. Tangkuban Perahu. u mentioned about staying in Malya Hotel. how much is the rate per nite?

Leslie: Hotel Malya cost about RM250++ per night. I stayed there for 3 nights. It provides daily complimentary breakfast and tea A complimentary dinner is provided too. For the tea, you hardly have the chance to try since you will be so busy shopping.

Sorry it’s not dawn, it’s dusk. That’s my waking time during hols. I don’t mind Sundanese foods if they taste like the one at KLCC. First time to Indonesia, no flood like the one at Jakarta, I hope.
Will post after my trip. My fight been rescheduled to afternoon. Shopping will not been on top of my list, maybe some souvenirs. Wonder RM3000 equiv is sufficient for 6D/5N. Don’t know the cost of flowers there..

  • 17 MeK // Feb 12, 2008 at 4:43 pm

Haluu there… Me goin to Bandung end March 08.. Can’t wait to shop shop shop n shop.. Thinking of staying in Arion Swiss Belhotel.. is far from the factory outlets and other shopping places?

Leslie: Bandung is a small city. You will probably leave the hotel for the whole day for shopping. The factory outlets are not far away, depending on the traffic.

going to bandung in mei 2008. Looking for kayu jati funiture outlet. Can you recommend the best place to go

  • 19 Vince // Feb 17, 2008 at 8:07 am

Back on Friday (15/02). Thot of spending 6 days, end up 10 days. Shoppings were not my priorities though. Batiks print that my late grandpa would not even wear. Pretty dark n really doesn’t fit the locals there as most r dark skinned (kopi susu). Kinda disappointed of my search, but now I know where to look. Jln Riau for shoppings, Jln Braga 4 pubs hopping. N my ideal places 4 clubbings were Emporiom Hotel, Amnesia n Embassy. But nothing beats Bangkok. Should drop by in Jakarta 4 a couple of days… Alas, next time. Spend twice my budget, I stayed on Jl Asia-Afrika. 2 of the foreign banks located on this business ctr street 4 the 24hrs ATMs. Weather, what la my room temp was much cooler than outdoor, then again I never got out when the sun was up. Local food nothing to shout abt, tried most recommended restnts. The Sudannese restnt in Suria KLCC beats them all. Perhaps I should have tried 50 local restnts, then I’ll be a critic. Tony Roma’s, tastes the same as in KL. For u guys try the outlets in BKK n S’pore. Items won’t find in KL n Bandung. Bertawis food, Padang n Sudanese food mainly suit locals’ palate, very salty. Drinks r very sweet, the coke comes in 195ml btls, collectibles 4 the cokes’ fans. Cokes..! Drink plenty of fluids although most of the days r cloudy but humid. Hotels’ TV beats most 5 stars hotel everywhere in the region, lotsa channels. No censors, but blurrings even wounds. Perhaps, they try 2 cut down violence?? Were there, a stampede killed 11 ppl, due 2 removals of some squatters’ area. Indonesians r football fanatics, the final match of the local league was shifted 2 Bandung, a few days b’4 the match was supposed to play in front of no spectators ( first in history of Indonesian leagues) 2 curb ruckus. Even then, there were a few demo after the results were released. Watched the Manchesters’ derby in a pub. Language wise, BI easy 2 learn if u know BM but kinda different, dong. Taxi fares, bargain first b’4 getting on one, insists on meter. Angkutan Kota, 4 the informed n adventurous. The drivers practise price differentials, locals n foreigners. Wish u guys a nice trip.

hi leslie, we plan to bandung on jun08 (4adult + 3kids), stay in Sukajadi hotel. Wonder about food cleanliness + estimation price. What type of transport to all factory outlet & also price? pls advise. TQ

Leslie : The price of a van & driver for 12+ hours day is about Rm100 excluding petrol, parking and meals for driver. Sukajadi Hotel is a partner for Airasia. Opposite Sukajadi is Paris Van Java shopping mall. You can even find a few smaller factory outlets around the hotel. Restaurants are clean. You can read here and here for more info.

we have been there last january. it is a very nice place if you want to shoppe. i call it marvellous with all branded items especially in rumah mode. u can get banana rep dress as low as rm35. along jalan dago there are a few FO plus 1 bag centre. u can find tod’s, chloe, miu miu etc but i’m not sure wheter it is ori or not. have fun for those shopping mania…. thinking of going again this may..

  • 32 nuhr // Mar 16, 2008 at 1:52 pm

hi..i went to bandung last january 08 and already bought airasia tickets for our 2nd trip there in june 08. the best place to shop are pasar baru, and the FOs along jalan dago and riau e.g rumah mode, cascade, heritage and rumah tas. but one tip to share is if u want to buy the real branded shirt/cloths just check the label..if the label has been cut off then the cloth is genuine.
recommended restaurants - the valley, hanamasa..sindang reret, simpang raya, bakso malang,,sari minang,..bumbu desa..we hired supir and kijang which only cost Rp300k per day. ,,try to call Pak Dadang 081586477705.

Hi guys, i’ll be dropping by in Bandung for my first visit :) was wondering when u mentioned Rp300k per day. Is it 12 or 16 hours? and is it inclusive of petrol tol parking? Cos some are charging separately. can u recommend a friendly one? :) then we can chit chat and find out more while we’re there :) Thanks in advance

  • 38 azizah // Mar 26, 2008 at 9:11 am

i recommend you to use totaltravel services (http://www.totaltravel.info/), i did it on Feb 2008, i really satisfied with it. they take me arround for shopping and into the amazing and interrest places in Bandung. you know what i like from them? they make itinerary where combine in several aspect: shopping, relaxing, sighseeing, and tour. i forget about their rate, but i thought average-lah for Bandung…

  • 39 NAJRY // Apr 1, 2008 at 11:43 pm

I am going to bandung soon and plan to have an ample shopping time there. Something crossed my mind, if all the factory outlet stuff are all original, but rather rejected due to slight defects..How about the pricing to malaysia ringgit? Are all the shops near to each other, or rather located separately? Then, what about public transport? Can i just walk around the city if I were to get to those streets? Finally, how about safety like pick-pocket and so on?It seems the questions are quite a lot, since this is my first time to go there..It’s interesting, many people say, Paris van Java.Thank you.

Leslie: Hire a car with driver can save you lots of time. Cost you only about Rm100 per day. Most of the shops are nearby but you also need to move from place to place

  • 40 amran // Apr 4, 2008 at 11:56 pm

hi leslie…going to bandung this may for first time. is it true that most of the shopping area will be close at 5pm

I just get back from Bandung. This is my 3rd. Its worth to be there. I ensure u guy to share the excitement. Lots of branded stuff and its really cheap. Its recommended for you to book your stay earlier. Otherwise you’ll stranded freezing. Luckily i got fellows who know the city. I suggest you check their exchange rates 1st. The more, the better. I’ve been to lots of factory outlet and i think only few of ‘em are really worths going. Different place with different price. You need to survey their rates. I think the items are almost everywhere the same. You should take few days.hehe.. At jalan Dago is cheaper. There got bundle’s shop selling used item called BAbe (barang bekas). Make sure that the 1st place you go to bcoz the item is limited. Price?dont compare. Its extremely cheap. I went to this restaurant in Sukajadi’s area, “D’cost seafood”.. its cheap and the foods are fabulous..!! yum yum..!! and last but not list, the Bandung’s Hot Chicks..!! They’re Superb. Gorgeous..!! And they also sangat friendly :p

    Enjoy your stay guys..!!
If u need more info, jes let me noe.. Send me ur email. I’ll be glad to share ‘em with u guys..!!
I manage to set a team to visit Bandung next August.

Feels free, come and join us..!! you’re welcome..

You’ll get more in Bandung compared shopping in msia. Dont forget to check the airlines.

    :: HEAVEN ::

hye…i just come back from bandung last 2 weeks…bandung is like a heaven for shopaholics like me n my fwens..hee..ape yg i boleh suggest,if u using handphone, dont hesitate to buy new simcard there which means using indonesia’s number..because it is only 12000rp n if we convert it into RM,its about RM4.50 only..very cheap..n if u using SMS,it will cost u only 350rp (RM0.01)..its true because it happened to me..my maxis cannot be using at bandung..then i decided to buy a new simcard..and i compared it with my fwen who are using malaysia’s number (maxis, celcom) one SMS= RM3.00..what a waste…haha..baek abiskn duit utk bershopping lorr..haha

Insyaallah im going to bandung this aug 08, i want to buy some branded gift from FO.. but how to differentiate btween ori or not…it sell cheper coz of its reject or not ori??
what is the most thing that they bought from bndung??

  • 67 baloum // Jul 16, 2008 at 12:18 pm

I was in Bandung this weekend, I bought 3 authentique clothes ( Nike, Jersey of manchester united, and a black shirt Hugo Boss) for 537000 roupias. So almost 27 euro (because I leave I France). Unfortunately, I didn’t have more time. I plan to return there next time. Sincerly, I like it, so 1000 times interesting than ” the sold ” in France actually.
For the moment, I enjoy my holiday in Jakarta

  • 77 ashari // Aug 22, 2008 at 1:18 pm

    Hi

I would recommend ladies to go to Rumah Tas instead of Terminal Tas for ur handbag run. Price is cheaper, better brand and more choices. For men, go for swiss saddle bag or wheeled document/hand luggage.

For hotel, u can try 4 star Grand Serella close to Riau Junction Shopping Mall with many FOSes and sopping malls just walkaway. Rate is a lil bit above rm100, clean, spacious, .. lupa berapa…

For lunch and dinner, try Kampung Daun, owned by a indon-chinese billionaire, almost the whole kampung is his. You can ask for Gurame Bakar, very delicious, ayam panggang ets. Very nice surroundings, close to waterfall and clean river. Try try try… ave a try.

Rumah Made is a must, not only for shopping but for a short break too.. try kopi durian….

For man, i’m not sure, i didnt really shop. Just get Tiger Wood T Shirt, cheap but look carefully at the stiching and balancing, left and right. (ada balancing mcm kereta jugak ke?). Golf glove is reasonable..

Zipped suit/blazer, not jacket, is not in Bandung. It’s in Jakarta.. very nice. looks like suit priced around rm40 only.

Pasar Baru.. banyak baju. kain dll… jgn lupa pergi

lain2 tips, lupa.. u can email me for more info.. tq bye

Just came back from Bandung yesterday, went without any itenerary until I came accross Ashari’s entry posted above just the day before departure. Contacted Pn Roslina just the night before flying off and she helped in getting transportation and itenerary arranged. All sorted!! :-) Transportation cost IDR 1 million for 2.5 days on brand new Suzuki APV, friendly driver also. We enjoyed Tangkuban Perahu the most!!! I think shopping at Pasar Baru was worthwhile for things like telekung, kain kebaya etc but the FOs are so so only, quite disappointing, really, didn’t really like the stuff sold there much…Thanks for all the tips, I found info found here most helpful.

  • 88 Bandung Today // Oct 19, 2008 at 7:10 pm

    Anne,
Factory outlets sell products that are made in Indonesia and are supposed to be sent overseas for exports. Brands like Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Aeropostale, Abercrombie, DKNY and some others that have factories in Bandung can be found there.

Due to the tight quality control, some items didn’t pass the QC and hence can’t be exported. They are then distributed through factory outlets in the city. Hope this helps.

For more information, please visit Bandung Today.

    Hi,

I went to Bandung last month (4days3nights)-21-24Nov08.

Went to Tangkuban perahu (2nd) & Taman Safari Bogor (3rd day)

    Several Tips:
    1) Better to get flights as early as possible.
    2) Just go directlty to shopping outlet (too many FOs) there, to save your time when you reach at Bandung.
    3) Just get the cheap hotel because your time at hotel only for sleep. Below 2star hotel is or.
    4) If your bring child, for me it worth it to bring them to Tangkuban Perahu & Taman Safari Bogor (check time to go &back), must be before 3pm).
    5) The good place for Makan - Kg Daun (good place & food), Dapur ku Sangkuriang, Restoran Simpang Raya. Very delicious i.e the ingredient of Ayam Goreng etc, Timbel (variety of lauk) etc.
    6) Shopping was the heaven place - Pasar Baru (3hour was not enough). The quality Telekung (Japan type). M’sia around RM250 price, there you can get RM65 (+-210,000rupiah). Average Prize for good quality & branded T/Casual Shirts (60k - 100k, about RM17 - rm35) . I bought it several), Burberry, Guess etc. Long Pants - 110,000 - 170,000 about - 35-60.
    LV, Burberry etc.
    7) If you interested to buy something, just by it, otherwise u will have enough time to go back.
    8) Better to use credit card at FOs (the rate is really low) compare to cash.
    9) Car rental you can get 300k-400k per day..
    10) I just bring a single clothes & buy it there for daily use. Worth it.

  • 100 juraimizainal.awang // Dec 5, 2008 at 11:49 am

    11) I’ve bought 13boxes of Amanda brownies kukus/pisang bolen and 1box Kartika Sari. Some say Kartika Sari is good and some say Amanda. For me both were ok.. but size for Kartika Sari is slighly small then Kartika Sari. And the prize for Amanda is cheeaper. Several i.e cheese, blueberry, choclate, pisang. I really like the Pisang one. Don’t forget Pisang Bolen.
TAKE NOTE: PLEASE CHECK THE EXPIRY DATE BEFORE BUY.

    12) Be carreful before buy the leather stuff because of pig leather (for Muslim la).

  • 109 vincechase // Jan 20, 2009 at 10:47 am

I will always stay in Hotel Utari..in Jalan Dago..

It only cost RM110 per night

Its right infront of Plaza Dago (u got Family Karaoke, Family Pub, Video Games, Sudanese restaurant, japanese Restaurant, Cheap DVD’s(RM2), 24hr Convenient Store, Hotspot, Shisha, Burgers, Western Food, Pharmacy) There’s also a Nasi Padang restaurant next door to the Plaza

To the Right is the Humongous and CHEAP DSE (Dago Stok Ekspot), I find this place carry all the brands which is founded in other FO, but Cheaper! Its 6 storey! Heritage and Rumah Mode, this s Tourist area, so their price are quite higher.

On the Left of the Hotel, u got Pizza Hut, Music Shop (CD’s & Cassete (dirt cheap originals)), Food Court selling hawkers food (don’t u DARE eat at warong, our stomach cannot withstand it..and you wont know the standard of the hygiene), Japaneses restaurant..

Further left, got KFC and a Supermarket.

The whole Jalan Dago, you can find all the FO, and Kartika Sari, a well known Cake house (RM10 aje satu)

    All walking distance..

If you are tired, can try the Angkot (angkutan Kota), a green mini bus mini..Only Rp2000 saja.. Don’t worry, Bandung people are nice to tourist, they will help u..

U can also take a cab, make sure it’s a Bluebird, they are ETHICAL cab driver. They are FAR FAR FAR better than KLCC cab driver…u can get their number from the Hotel..

And change your sim card to Indonesia service provider..far cheaper than our rate..

On weekend the trafic is bad due to the Jakarta people coming over..so, its better look for hotels which are walking distance from all the great place..

  • 120 rosenah abdul karim // Apr 20, 2009 at 12:53 pm

I was in Jakarta and Bandung with my family during the recent school holidays (March 14-20 2009). We took a KLM flight from KLIA to Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta. The fare is still very much cheaper (RM 378.00 per person return including tax, etc.etc.) compared to Air Asia and MAS which does not offer cheap tickets during school holidays. No scrambling for seats, delicious Muslim food is served, the plane is so spacious, the service superb.

From Soekarno Hatta, we were met upon arrival by the staff of Cihampelas Hotel 2 Bandung, the hotel that we have booked for our stay there and driven in a Toyota MPV for a 2 hours journey to Bandung.

Hotel Chihampelas 2 information is as follows:

    1. Located at Jalan Cihampelas, along the famous jeans street where you can also shop for genuine leather jackets (a shop about ten doors away from this hotel sells georgeous men’s and ladies leather jackets at unbelievable CHEAP prices.)

    2. You can also find along this road shops selling creative t-shirts written on them words such as Mom, Dad, Son, Daughter, Wife, Husband, Best Friends, Lovers, etc. Sure to attract attention when u wear it together with your family/friends, right?

    3. Distance of Hotel Cihampelas (by car) to:

    i) Hospital - 3 min
ii) Cihampelas District - 3 min
iii) Setiabudi Factory Outlets - 5 min
iv) Riau factory outlets -10 min
    v) Paris van Java Mall - 10 min
    vi) Pasar Baru- 20 min
    vii) Train station- 10 min
viii) Hussain Sasteranegara Airport- 15 min.

    4. Next to hotel is a convenience store and also within walking distance are MacDonald’s, Jco and Pizza Hut besides many other local restaurants.

    5. This hotel also has cars/vans for rental for shopping and touring purposes at affordable prices too.If you travel by Air Asia to Bandung, hotel guests will be fetched from Hussain Sasteranegara Airport FOC. Angkutan Kota and taxis pass infront of this hotel every time of the day. If you are not the type who fuss over hotel rooms, I recommend this budget hotel. The hotel staff is friendly, it is conveniently located and affordable. After all, in shopping haven Bandung, how much time can you spend in your hotel room?

My advice to you ladies, when in Bandung, bring extra cash, and don’t forget to activate your ATM cards for you might shop for the unexpected. Like myself, I never expect to have my Raya curtains tailor made here -how could I resist those beautiful lace curtains which cost a fortune in KL ? Bring along your curtain measurements and you can have it sewn within three days in Bandung. Cost includes curtain materials, workmanship and hooks thrown is REALLY DAMN CHEAP.

And for you gentleman, spare the cash for a Georgio Armani or Paul Smith suit. You can get it here for RM 250.00 -RM 300.00. These are export overruns but they are imported from U.K and Italy and are ORIGINAL pieces. Only that matters.

  • 121 BN // Apr 23, 2009 at 3:33 pm

    Rosenah,
Wanna ask - where to get the original Giorgio Armani and Paul Smith suit? My hubby looking for some la…can tell me the exact shop?

  • 123 linda // Apr 30, 2009 at 11:25 am

hi all..i’m going to bandung again on this jun10th-14th.its my 2nd time to bandung..

i’ve been to bandung last yer with 8 of my frens…26th june-29th.
    heres the story begins…
on our last visit at bandung,me n my frens stay at ahadiat hotel..it is quite far from bandung city..it’s a 3 star hotel..no swimming pool, the service is just ok..very clean spacious hotel room(superior room can fit bout 6 people in the room),with a/cond,tv, kettle and etc..theres no shop nearby this hotel..you have to walk for distance to reach the main road to buy groceries.(try the kacang ya..its yummy then our kacang cap tangan in m’sia n try the super maggi cup-perisa ayam bawang!!!very tastyyyy)

    for a shopping physio..
yes of cosssss,we went to jln dago, setiabudhi, riau fo..it’s amazingly cheap!!!u can have an ed hardy t-shirts for rph125,000(rm44)..polo ralph lauren baby-t for rph100,000(rm35)..energie(brand that valentino rossi wears) jeans for rph300,000(rm107)..etienne aigner handbag for rph1,000,000(rm350)..cheap kannn??!!
buttttttt…theres 1 thing i did recognised about all this fo..most of them r actually selling the same design of clothes with same prices..so u might end up finding the same item on every fo..

    Tips:

    Factory Outlets in Bandung

Bandung is really a shopping paradise with so many factory outlets to let you shop till you drop. The clothes sold in these factory outlets are seasonal. What is sold in these outlets depends on the supply from their distributors which offer overruns and seconds on export garments at bargain prices. The foreign store and foreign currency price tag often is still on the item i.e. US$ 65 with the Rp price next to it: Rp 45,000 (US$4.50).

The shops carry both Grade A (best quality overruns) and Grade B (seconds with something wrong with them so they didn’t pass quality inspection by the buyer). Some also carry factory rejects but they wouldn’t broadcast that fact! Depending on the agreements between buyers/factories and factory outlets, the items are often put up for sale 3-6 months after they go on the market for full price elsewhere.

Don’t be surprised if you see ‘Made in Korea’ or ‘Made in Thailand’ (to name a few) tags on the clothes too as many of the shops buy from agents who represents factories in these countries. Or, they are really made in Indonesia and mis-labeled on purpose.

Local production for the local market is offered in the shops as well with very different quality. Buyer beware because some of the stores also sell fakes along with the factory seconds.

After you’ve been to a few of these stores, you’ll start to see similarities in stock. Asking the shops in Jakarta if they are branches of Bandung stores, few would admit it but a lot of them are selling the same items but usually for the same price in Jakarta as Bandung. Makes you wonder.

    Enjoy bargain hunting!

i was searching for something but i end up opening this site and read few of the comments. ive been to indonesia for more than 10 years as i do business related wif indonesian products.

about the shopping, yes! they were selling very2 cheap but after all, it is all fake! if u dont mind getting fake things, then go to bandung. even they said is factory outlet, most of the product, is make in indonesia. mostly none of it from overseas.

d only shop dat i can rely on is rumah mode as the owner of that boutique is my mom’s fren *being fren after a few times visit and never walk away from paying Rp 10 millions. since i have 5 siblings.

i alwiz call her to ask whether she take stocks from us and europe. but surely, i can see lots of things dat were fake! but if u dont mind, a lot of armani exchange shirt, guess, bebe, burberry, ed hardy dat cost u around rm50 d most!

about jeans, u can see lots of fake one but among of it, there is original too. but dont expect it to be cheap. i think around rm100 also.

these shops in malaysia alwiz had their clearance warehouse sale. u can alwiz check in my blog for newest sale in town. i just dont want u to waste ur money to bandung and buy fake things but actually u can get d original in kl itself.

but bandung had lotsa place to visit! =) i alwiz stay at arjuna hotel which is a bit far from centre but its a nice hotel and clean. holiday villa is quite ok too.

advisable if u want to hopping in and out of shops, better get car for u. but if u have only few places to go, taxi shud be fine. but alwiz take bluebird and let ur concierge know where ure going. for safety reasons. u might never know rite?

so have fun in bandung and dont spent ur money too much on things dat u dont really need!

  • 146 ann // Jun 25, 2009 at 10:30 pm

duyung : alwiz padang! if u wanna buy telekung and tudung. very2 cheap.. selling tudung like only Rp 20,000 and nice telekung which in kl, d most expensive one sell in kl around rm1,500 sometimes.. i can get in padang only rm700. im very satisfied wif the quality & the beautiful of it.

  • 147 ann // Jun 25, 2009 at 10:38 pm

linda : etienne aigner handbag u can get all around e-boutiques around rm100-rm400. d price is cheap in us dats y can sell around dat price. after shipping to msia. =P in indonesia, i dunnno wut to say esp in bandung. i can never trust d shops down there.

perfumes in indonesia, advisable dont buy! they didnt sell the original one. trust me! only d one in sogo i think might be.. i can trust but only 50% of my heart. sometimes in kl, metrojaya and perfumes distributors were doing clearance sale which u can get perfumes such as ralph lauren notorious, dunhill pursuit, mont blanc for only rm100. *sigh!

  • 152 Azl // Aug 6, 2009 at 12:02 am

just came back today from Bandung ,

Me from Singapore , probably my 7th time there , but this is the first real shopping trip , most of the time was just catching up with my wifes family in pameungpeuk ….

this time around , went to factory outlets like Rumah Mode and it was great , i just love the Ambercrombie bermudas and all and for girls the esprit dresses and lots of other stuff….basically there is everything for everyone ….and i also love the local designer shops along Jalan sultan agung , got a couple of Jackets , wallets and bags…

did not really have time to check the rest ….

On our 3rd day , we went to Tangkuban Prahu , wonderful view but that is all i guess finally i get to see it ……then went to Ciater soak my feet in 42 degrees water ….feels good , did not plan to swim so after some horse riding and photo taking , we went for early dinner at Daun Kelapa or something , a restaurant in the middle of a jungle which accepts credit cards ….pretty surprising , price is a bit on high side but food serving is huge and its pretty tasty ….

Anyway thanks for the recommendation , My driver was mainly Pak Dadang 081586477705 which was recommended by someone here …

he is extremely experienced and friendly …..will call him again next time i am there ……might be pretty soon , ha ha

Dear BN, Linda, Ilnana, Mono_liners, Aida,

Glad to share some info though its a late reply.

    1. My hubby got his Paul Smith from Blossom Factory Outlet in Jalan Dago. Tips to get a good catch out of shopping at FO’S in Bandung:

    i) Don’t get too excited and start grabbing and paying for whatever catch your eyes (and your heart). Explore, take your time and make comparisons. FOS at Jalan Dago are not as famous and as popular as the ones at Jalan Setiabudi and Jalan Riau but wow, they’ve good fashionable products at good prices if you care to explore.

    2. For curtains, go to Jalan Alkateri. All the shops along this road sells and take orders for curtains. It can be ready in 2-3 days depending on your design. Don’t forget to bring your measurements.

    2. Rental for Avanza would normally cost RP450,000. (driver and petrol included). But u could also opt for a Bluebird Taxi or other public transport if u want to save on costs. Its recommended that u hire an Avanza and share the cost if u travel in a group. The advantage is u can have the driver from morning until 8 p.m to take u from one shopping destination to another. Wherelse if u hire u a taxi or public transport, the driver will just drop u and u’ll have to search for another to take u home. And don’t forget that you have shopping bags that you have to carry along in search for a taxi or bus home? Just imagine…

    3. For any more information, please e-mail me, I’d be glad to help. I’d be going there again in December and this time I’m going to get those Sandersons and Laura Ashley Kind Size bedspreads from the Summit FO. Would you give it a miss if you can get em for less than RM100.00 (harga Obral-which means SALE) when it cost around RM 450.00 in KL? I just can’t wait…..

Don’t ever use the travel agent Zafiracar… had a very bad experience with them. Booked their family package online, told me is Aston Apartment (4 stars), but when I reach there, just dump me to the adjoining apartment but not manage by Aston. smelly bathroom and don’t even prepare the extra bed that I requested. To my horror, when I talk to the boss (Tarmidzi Yusuf), that stupid guy just say it is their package and if I don’t like it just go and look for hotel myself!! imaging I am travelling with kids and stuff. This is the worst travel experience I had so far. So please…please avoid Zafiracar (Tarmidzi Yusuf)…

    hi rosenah abd karim..

    yup…i agreed..
always explore..make comparison..then only,u’ll be able to get things with cheaper price.

    n i noticed 1 thing..
for accesories(such hairclip,bangle,ring)..dont buy them at the fo..
they sell it with high price..
    opt to pasar bharu..(g floor..)
u cn get d same accesories there with cheaper price.
u can save about rm5-8 per accesories if u buy them frm pasar bharu.

    ya..u’re rite..
thats what i’ve been tellin all my frens..
i suggest them to hire pak supir rather than going around with cab..

then u have to carry all ur shopping bag yang penuh dekat tangan keluar masuk teksi/fo/spa centre/shopping complex/restaurant..*auewwwwww*
