Get ready for Terry Fox Run 2007

October 27th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Terry Fox Run will be held on Nov 4, 2007 at Kuala Lumpur Lake Garden. Flag off is at 9AM. The Terry Fox Run started in Malaysia in 2001 and has been an annual event since then.

I started participating in Terry Fox Run last year. It was a non-competitive run and it’s really fun. People from all walks of live took part. Children, babies on prams, kids on roller blades and some teenagers on bicycles. Everyone took part for fun and also most importantly, to raise fund for cancer research in Malaysia. This is the unique thing about fund raised through Terry Fox Run. All the money raised remains in your country. All proceeds will go to The Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF)

What’s special about this year’s run is that the organizer is giving out XXXS t-shirts for babies. They do take note of babies participating in last year’s run.

The design for this year’s run has a picture of Terry Fox doing his run across Canada.

So, Please register here. Among those who have registered is Kennysia. I don’t have to tell you who this guy is.

I will dedicate this year’s run to my friends, Helena, Jasmine and Janice’s brother, who lost their lives to cancer this year. The big battle is not over yet. The research will continue until the day a solution is found.

In Terry’s own words “If you’ve given a dollar, you are part of the Marathon of Hope.”

˜I am not doing my run to become rich or famous. To me, being famous is not the idea of the run. The only important part is finding a cure for cancer. Don’t forget that. I am not different from anyone of you and I am no better, no worse. You are cheering and clapping for me, but if you have given $1, then you are part of Marathon of Hope. Even if I don’t finish, we need others to continue. It has got to keep going without me“ Terry Fox July 11, 1980

Thank you so much for your message.
You are a kind person to do the run for a good reason. I am unable to join in for the run & would be grateful that you could include my late brother in the names that you are running for.

Thank you so much once again :)
