Harry Porter has weaved his magic wand to show book enthusiasts in Malaysia that price for novels can be much cheaper than what they have been paying. J.K Rowling’s latest book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” costs 36% more in books stores compared to hypermarkets like Tesco and Carrefour.
Unfortunately, established book stores have withdrawn “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” from their shelf in protest against the “indiscriminate price discount.”. They have also cancelled all events related to Harry Porter.
Price war is always good for consumers like myself. This will lower the price to a more affordable level so that more people can afford such goods. Therefore, I support fully competitive pricing which brings value to consumers.
We need more of such aggressive promotions which bring value to consumer.
