Planning to get a new television

December 9th, 2007 · 3 Comments

Television in my home is already more than 10 years old. Miraculously it survived a lightning strike and a power surge. The service center was able to repair it on both occasions or else, it will be in the junk yard. Since it’s already so old and the prices of plasma and LCD televisions are dropping, I am tempted to replace my old faithful television with either a LCD or plasma. However, deciding on which model and technology to buy is a difficult decision.

Whenever I want to buy electronic equipments, it would be an automatic nightmare for me. Regardless of size and price, the decision making process will take a long time. As we all know, technology for these equipments changes to rapidly that it is almost impossible for us to keep up to date with everyone of them. Maybe I may follow the technology trend for a few equipments like LCD, plasma, high definition and blu-ray televisions but when it comes to making decision, it remains the most difficult thing to do.

For me, I will always surf the internet to check out for expert reviews, user reviews, forum discussions and where can I get the best price for the item I want to buy. I will spend time talking with the retailers to gather more information. I will also discuss with my geeky friends who are in tune with the technology trends for their recommendations. Eventually, I will make the decision.

I hope to get a new television before Christmas this year
