My friend sent me a link to YouTube for one of my favorite Chinese songs, “Shanghai Beach” by Frances Yip. This is the mandarin version for the “New Shanghai Bund’ series.

Which version would you prefer? For me, it’s still the Cantonese version that sounds best.
Shanghai is a nice city. I love the Bund most. In all my business trips to Shanghai, I get to stay at Sofitel Hotel that is very close to the Bund. The Bund is just a short walk down the Nanjing Road. While walking towards the Bund, there is a sex shop on the right. I always thought I will not find such shop in China. Well, China is into the 21st century faster than most of its neighbours.
I never fail to take the opportunity to take a stroll along the Bund in the evening to admire the beauty of the old architecture on north side of river versus the modern architecture on the south side - Pudong. Plus, seeing how young and lovely chinese couples courting at the Bund.

For me, I prefer the cantonese version. Hehe.. maybe the tvb drama series too famous and everyone knows about it..
Shanghai is one of the place that I would like to go.. unfortunately still no money..
