The spin-offs from Dan Brown’s ‘The Da Vinci Code’ do not seem to end. Every person, place, item or organization mentioned in the book has spun off another one or two more books. I have lost count on the numbers of books and theories that were written over the past two years.
Now, we have a computer analyst, Slavisa Pesci, claiming that there are new images in Leonardo Da Vinci’s 15th century mural ‘The Last Supper” in Milan’s Santa Maria delle Grazie church. He claims that these new images can be seen by superimposing a reverse image on the original image.
When doing so, Pesci said he observed, for example, that the two figures on either end of the long table appear to become knights, and that another figure appears to be holding an infant.
The fascinations of reinterpreting paintings have sprung up since ‘The Da Vinci Code’ thrilled readers. The book suggested that in “The Last Supper” one of the apostles sitting on Jesus’ right is Mary Magdalene, that the two had a child and that their bloodline continues.
The controversies created by ‘The Da Vinci Code” was attracting so much attention worldwide. The controversies generated enough interested to make millions for Dan Brown.
Everyone wants to be associated with this sure winning story. Why not try to give it another twist? If this can spark off another round of excitement world-wide, why not? Million of dollars will roll in instantaneously.
But, I think this claim will eventually die off just like the many claims that are found in the books that been published over the past two years.
