Google has released the latest PageRank last week. This website remains at PR3. It’s good enough for me. I don’t expect this website to move beyond PR3. However, I am quite disappointed that my daughter’s website still remains at PR0 after two rounds of Google’s PageRank update. I wonder what’s wrong with her website. Perhaps, I should say, how did Google go about giving out PR.  Any SEO experts out there to help me?

I consider myself lucky because this website remains at PR3. Some of my friends’ websites have their PageRank dropped from PR4 to PR0. We are still amazed with the way Google is assigning PageRank to websites.

Getting good PageRank does not necessary means you will get good traffic to your websites. Traffic comes in many ways and one of the ways is via search engine. Every website owner wants their website to be positioned as the first site whenever a particular keyword or keywords are searched via any search engine. The chances of people visiting your site are higher if you are positioned as the first website. This is where search engine optimization comes into play. Many webmasters invest a lot of money and effort to improve their search engine placement to get their website positioned as the first website.

Some may even opt to engage professionals to work on their search engine positioning. These companies have the expertise and tools to improve the website position for any search engine. These professionals are known as as SEO (Search Engine Optimizer).

So, a website with a good Page Rank does not mean it will bring you good traffic. If you want to make money from you websites, you need to consider traffic. Webmasters who want to monetize their websites, they will need to increase the traffic by improving on the websites search engine positions.
